PMF Donates Books to Graduates of Plainfield Connections – JFK Health Systems Program

June 14, 2017

PMF donated books to the graduates of the Parents as Teachers Program in Union County which is a program out of JFK Health Systems.  Parents as Teachers of Union County is a state-granted Program which uses frequent home visitation from pregnancy through preschool age to improve parenting skills.  These visitations improve child development outcomes, as well as increase school readiness.  Certified home visitors meet with at-risk families in their homes, evaluate the families’ circumstances and make connections for the families to help make a difference in a child’s health, development and ability to learn.  A large part of the program deals with literacy and this year’s graduation theme was ‘’Oh The Places You’ll Go“ by Dr. Seuss.  PMF was pleased to donate books to all graduates of the program at a graduation ceremony held on June 14.
