Mark Mattia received his B.A degree in History from Rutgers University. He then attended Widener University School of Law where he received his J.D. in 1981. As a member of both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bars, Mattia has more than 20 years of experience in all phases of litigation and coverage disputes involving personal injury, premises liability, and toxic tort. He has engaged in civil defense on behalf of both carriers and their insureds. Mattia also has experience in negotiation and has consistently resolved cases resulting in favorable settlements.
After law school, Mattia spent a year as a law clerk to the Superior Court of New Jersey in Essex County before he served as a staff member to the New Jersey State Senate. Mattia also gained experience at Hannoch Weisman.
Mattia joined Purcell, Mulcahy, Hawkins, Flanagan & Lawless LLC in 1993 as an associate and eventually a partner. He then began working as managing attorney and senior counsel for Performance Insurance Company in 2002. The firm is glad to welcome Mark Mattia back to the firm as of 2011.
